A comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) is an economic roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy, resulting from ongoing planning that engages the public and private sectors, and builds on the region’s unique advantages.
A CEDS is the result of a continuing economic development planning process developed by broad-based and diverse public and private sector participation, and is organized in sections that discuss the background and historical development of the region. It includes a SWOT with analysis, delivers a strategy, and examines benchmarks for performance.
As Kisatchie-Delta serves a rural region, often our elected officials also perform significant management roles in industry and small business; our private sector leaders also “wear hats” in public service. This innate diversity represented on your region’s Board promotes capacities and creativity in dynamics of the region in flexible and creative manners.
The Regional Strategy incorporates ongoing planning efforts that analyze the economy, establish goals and objectives, reflect on a plan of action for integrated development, identify investment priorities, provide flexibility, and build on distinct dynamics of this region.
